After what seems like forever, the Indian Premier League has finally come to an end, and the final definitely lived up to the hopes of the fans, and turned into one nail biting and super exciting event.
The tension in the air was so high, you could almost feel it through your television screen. The Kolkata Knight Riders and the Kings XI Punjab went head to head to see who will eventually be crowned as the IPL champions of 2014.
Both of these teams also featured South Africans – and needless to say, we are extremely proud of our boys representing our country (well, kind of).
jacques Kallis and Morné Morkel was part of the Knight Riders, while David Miller was undoubtedly the best performing South African at the tournament, and forming part of the talented Kings team.
However, despite Miller’s best efforts, it was to be the formidable Knight Riders that took the title by ending 3 wickets with 3 balls to spare. The final score stood at 200/7 for the Knight Riders and 199/4 for the Kings. A very close call indeed.
The Knight Riders orchestrated a great final, especially in last few minutes of the game. As they scored a lot of runs in the middle overs, the stage was set for a dramatic and nail biting final.
